I am Judy Gessner, President of the Board of Trustees.

As a resident of Whitefield for 12 years, I have enjoyed being a Board  member of this dynamic and creative organization for the last four years. The library has provided the opportunity to meet people, participate in wonderful programs that the library offers and see the growth of the library as it has become the “Heart of Whitefield.”

I am proud of the many activities and programs the Library offers. When at the library during story time, I recall taking my own children to begin their relationship with books and develop their joy of reading. As a former teacher, my students worked on research projects as they  tapped into fabulous resources about historic topics just as students do in Whitefield today. Now as an adult I look for informational topics, travel ideas, and exercise programs. There are new books available  monthly and the Interlibrary Loan Program allows me to request materials  from libraries across the state. What a resource!

Choosing a  movie from the library’s DVD collection is a relaxing way to spend a cold winter evening. Using the Libby app I can download e-books, audio books, and magazines to my phone for travel. One is never alone with a  good book.

The library promises even more for the future. An expansion is expected soon with more space for a variety of programs, books, and activities. Imagine how wonderful it will be to have more  elbow room. 

If you have not been into the library yet, please come visit. The staff is here to help with book suggestions, program schedules, the use of the printer and computers and much more. I hope to  meet more people who love the library and want to enjoy all that it offers.
